For whom is ANEMA? (…and who needs ANEMA?)

The "Artistic Network for the Empowerment of Marginalised People" (ANEMA) is a network of theatres, clubs, institutions and foundations, as well as individual artists, whose stated goal is to realise joint artistic projects for the “empowerment” of society’s marginalised groups.

For those who believe that

  • theatre can do more, specifically: to connect and empower people.

For those who are interested in

  • promoting the “empowerment of minorities and marginalised groups” through or in theatre or in shining a spotlight on this issue by bringing minorities, marginalised groups and majorities together to exchange ideas, express their creativity using their inherent potential while learning to respect each other, and/or

  • sharing their experiences in projects dealing with minorities and marginalised groups with other theatres and network members while encouraging mutual learning by presenting successful projects on the ANEMA website, and/or

  • carrying out joint projects with other network members (guest performances, theatre workshops…), in which minorities and marginalised groups either participate directly or are the main focus of the project.
